Maybe it’s for marketing — to send copies to new clients or prospects. Maybe you speak on the topic and you want to sell this book at the back of the room.
• You’ve already written your main book, but you want an additional book, a shorter one for the purposes described above.
• You don’t really want to write a thought leadership book, but you do want one or more shorter books of a “how to” nature to use for business purposes.

I created The 90-Minute Author package just for these circumstances.

How the process works

• You come up with a list of ten questions your clients ask you — or they should ask you but don’t — and send them to me.
• We set up a Zoom call in which I interview you, using your own questions, and your answers form the basis of the book. Because I am a skilled interviewer, I know how to ask supplementary questions to elicit even more relevant information your readers will value. I also ask the “dumb” questions if I don’t understand your answers — after all, if I don’t understand you, probably your readers won’t either. Even though I use the term 90-Minute in the title of this service, I’m flexible and willing to have the interview go as long as necessary to obtain your information.
• I record the interview and send it off for transcription.
• When it comes back, that’s when I work my magic! Despite what many unscrupulous online marketers will tell you, just tweaking a manuscript does not give you a book. It gives you a tweaked manuscript — not the same thing at all. What I do is take your message from audio form, adapt it to the written word and make it into a real book — while retaining your personal voice, because it is, after all, your message.
• After you approve the final manuscript, I have a cover and inside layout professionally designed for your approval and have a short run of the book produced.

What you get

• 25 copies of the book. (You can order more copies if you wish, but they are not included in the package.)
• If you wish, your book will be uploaded for sale on Amazon in both print and ebook forms.
• A pdf file of the finished book, which you can use for many promotional purposes.

What you don’t get

• Shopping your book to agents or publishers.
• Marketing or promotion for your book. Most of my 90-Minute Author clients use their books to improve their business, not to make money from actually selling the book.

Fee

Unlike ghostwriting, where there are variables that affect the fee, the process for The 90-Minute Author service is always the same. The flat fee is US$8,500, payable 50% on signing the contract and the remaining 50% when the 25 print copies are ready for delivery.

The 90-Minute Author is essentially a much pared-down version of my ghostwriting service. The single interview is enough for me to gather the information for the book, and there are no further interviews or research, such as may be involved with full ghostwriting.
